Praying For Leaders

How Do You Pray for Leaders?

Scripture:1 Timothy 2:2
Are you praying for our leaders? Many people often criticize the leadership of their country.
However, what we are to be doing is praying for our leaders.
Today's post has an open letter to Prime Minister Trudeau  and my prayer for him, as well as my two cents worth about praying for our leaders.

How can you help your leaders be the best people Our Father intends them to be?
Through encouraging thankful prayer.
Scoff all you want, but my experience has shown me that prayer changes things.

How Can You Pray for Your Leaders?

In 1 Timothy 2:2 , Paul writes to Timothy that he should pray for leaders to allow us to live peaceful quiet lives of holiness and godliness.
If you're not sure how to pray for your leader, just imagine how you would like them to be and pray in thanksgiving for the miracles Our Father is going to put in place .
The following letter to Justin Trudeau was sent in response to a campaign  donation letter that supposedly was sent personally by Justin Trudeau. While I doubt the campaign letter was sent personally by Justin Trudeau and perhaps may have even been a phishing email, the following email was put on my heart and I sent it by return email to the person. Perhaps it will plant a seed on someone's heart.

Dear Justin,
Since this is you personally asking,
I want to let you know that you and your family have been in my prayers.
I will continue to pray for you as you navigate this difficult path - trying to find balance between your family and the needs of so many in this great country of ours must be extremely difficult.

I will continue to pray for you to seek Our Father's face first in all things and ask Him to guide you.
Allow Him to open the eyes of your heart to new and unusual solutions to end poverty, hunger, and spiritual illnesses.
Think about Moses, when he was standing between the army and the Red Sea shouting to Our Father "What shall I do?"
Our Father pointed out that he had the means to part the Red Sea in his hand.
Now who would think you could do THAT with a simple stick?
Justin, I have had many such miracles like this happen in my life, and I am nobody special, so I KNOW they can happen for you too.
Silver and gold have I none, but I will keep you in my prayers.
Remember, even Our Brother Christ had to send His disciples to the river to get a coin from a fishes mouth to pay his taxes.
We may think we need money to solve problems, but in actuality, it is the things money buys that we may need.
In all my experiences, there is only one thing that changes anything.
What is that?
Prayer.
Prayer in thanksgiving for Our Father's good plans to be manifest here.
Here is my Prayer for you.
I am praying in thanksgiving, the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Father, thank You for giving us a great leader who shows love for all people, reflecting Your Love in a weary world.
Thank You Father, that You are opening the eyes of his heart to see unusual solutions to the problems in our country.
Like Elisha in 2 Kings 6, You will show this leader things that others will not be able to see and You will send him a servant that will also have his eyes opened to the things that are not visible to others.
Together, they will be able to bring Your Will to pass in our country.
Father, thank You for helping our leader obtain daily bread and clean water for all our people , like You did for Moses. Thank You for showing him unusual means to obtain it.
Father, if there be anything standing in the way of these blessings, I thank You for helping remove it. Thank You for helping remove any unforgiveness that may be in either of our hearts, and forgiving us for any ways we have missed the mark. Father, thank You for helping us forgive ourselves so we can move forward in the path You have determined for us before birth.
Father, thank You also for keeping us from evil and temptation. So often when we are pressed on all sides for quick answers, it can be tempting to reach for a bandaid solution that is not of You. Father, thank You for giving us a leader who seeks after You with his whole heart and responds to questions and pressures with love and patience as a good parent.
May You Bless his heart and home with joy that comes from following Matthew 25 :35-40. Let him see Your Love manifest in unusual ways, so that even unbelievers will say THAT is a miracle and open their hearts to You.
Amen
How are you praying for your leaders?
Remember: It is of utmost importance not to condemn ANYONE!
For as we judge, so shall we be judged. As we forgive, so we shall be forgiven.
